Guy Paradis


Guy brings 28 years of head and assistant coaching experience to the SPHA U16 Prep program, we are very excited to be welcoming him and his staff to our program. Most recently, Guy had spent the previous two seasons with the South Side Athletic Club U16 AAA team who competed in the AEHL. Prior to his time at SSAC, Guy was the head coach of the Major Midget AAA CAC Gregg Distributors where he won a North Division Championship in 2014/15. The same season they won the North Division, Guy was awarded the Glen Sather Award as the AMHL Coach of the year.

Before his move to minor hockey, Paradis spent five seasons coaching withthe St. Albert Saints and Sherwood Park Crusaders of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. While with the St. Albert Saints, Paradis won an AJHL Championship during the 1995/96 season as well as being a Doyle Cup finalist. Paradis also spent five seasons with the Stony Plain Eagles Senior AAA team as a player/coach where he won Hardy Cup Championships in 1991/92, 1992/93, 1993/94, 1994/95 and an Allen Cup Championship in 1999.

As a player, Guy spent time playing in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, Western Hockey League, Western International Hockey League before spending five seasons with the University of Alberta Golden Bears. While playing with the U of A, Paradis won both a Canada West Championship in 1988/89 and 1990/91 and a National Championship in 1985. Guy has also served as a coach mentor for many young coaches and we look forward to him and his staff being a part of our program!
